Mobile application development has seen huge demand in the recent years, with the rapidly growing rate of people using smart phones all over the globe. People prefer smartphones over feature phones as smart phones have added convenience in one’s life. People use their smart phones for checking news or stock prices, locating restaurants and destinations. There is a severe competition among app developers as well the companies that own smart phones ‘operating systems. The battle of smart phone platforms has also aroused confusion among mobile application development companies as well as their clients. Businesses around the world are investing in iPad development, iPhone app development and Android application development to reach people at large.

Scope of Android Application Development:
Google supplies Android to the smart phone makers for free, but has not been directly involved in the lawsuits because it does not make its own mobile phone device. Mobile makers like Samsung, HTC, LG, Huawei and others have gained huge profits from Android OS smart phones. Consumers’ interest in Android handsets has grown over few months and has lowered the market position of RIM’S BlackBerry to a great extent. As a result, several mobile application development companies have lost their interest in mobile application development for BlackBerry OS. It is due to the growing popularity and scope of Android application development, that BlackBerry smart phones are now supporting Android applications.

Google Play:
Google has recently launched Google Play - an integrated destination for apps, books, movies, and music, accessible to users on Android devices and to anyone on the Web. Google Play is built on the same infrastructure as Android Market and it replaces and extends Android Market. Mobile application development tools for Google Play are the same as for Android Market. The users follow the same procedure for logging in and making payments on this upgraded app store.
Recently, the interest in Android has diminished due to its tendency of being open for malware. Being an open source platform, malicious malware have been attacking on apps which has made users cautions about using an Android smart phone for making transactions and using tax apps. According to a report, thousands of Android OS smart phones and other devices have been infected with viruses which have ripped users of their sensitive data and caused them a great deal of trouble. Consumers are bound to secure their devices by installing third-party antivirus softwares. But this does not mean that iPhone is 100% secure. Recently, McAfee has reported Apple’s operating system is more secure than others, but sometimes vulnerabilities are discovered in its apps.

Why people love iPhone Apps:
The craze of iPhone and iPad among the people has taken iPhone application development to new heights. People love iPhone for various applications, games and widgets. App developers have interest in developing mobile application for iOS. Apple has secured dominance over BlackBerry smart phone maker Research in Motion (RIM). iPhone and iPad application development includes iPhone games development, iPhone widget development, iPhone m-commerce solution, theme, mock, icon designing, iPhone web service Integration, iPhone mobile website development, iPhone add-ons and plug-ins along with travelling, navigation and weather forecasting mobile application development. One can also do shopping via iPhone app by goi ng to the app of their favourite store and purchasing their desired product.
BlackBerry has lost its place that it used to have some time back. BlackBerry was considered as the smart phone for the elite and professionals. But now the rich and fashionable have shifted their interest in iPhone and Android handsets and business people have also shifted towards iPhone as it is user-friendly and has more than what a BlackBerry smart phone offers. However, in some African and Middle Eastern countries, youngsters and business professionals still use Black Berry handsets over expensive iPhone devices.
